WHKP's Richard Rhodes was on hand at the Land Of The Sky Regional Council board meeting Wednesday to accept an award for broadcasting efforts during the recent storm.
The award was presented, recognizing internet and phone service down that WHKP radio broadcasts provided life saving information.
Several other WNC radio stations received the same award.
Hendersonville Council Woman Dr.Jenn Hensley received an award for public service.
