For 77 years #1 WHKP has provided live coverage of high school football games.This year the most experienced team Tim Erzberger,and Beau Lovelace are poised to bring you all the action.
WHKP will begin the season on August 18th when Hendersonville travels to North Henderson.
In addition to live play by play...WHKP will provide an in depth 15 minute pre game show prior to each live game.
WHKP fm and am will also broadcast all the UNC Tar Heel,App State Mountaineer,and Carolina Panther games.
Sports Director Richard Rhodes stated "no radio station in the state of North Carolina covers in state football like WHKP."
WHKP signed on the air October 24th 1946,and the next night provided live play by play of a high school football game.
