Suzanne Noel (Perrins) Kydd, DVM, age 69, of Burnside, Newfoundland, Canada, Saturday, October 7, 2017, passed away at the home of friends, from apparent stroke.

She was born in Lowell, MA, 29 February 1948. Upon graduation from high school, and then after completing one year at The Ohio State University, Sue (then known as "Peri") transferred to N.C. State University to complete her B.S. degree. Dr. Kydd was owner and sole practitioner of the North State Veterinary Clinic on Hendersonville Rd., in Hendersonville, NC, for many years, specializing in small-animal medicine, and was recognized as a brilliant diagnostician and surgeon. Subsequently moving to open veterinary clinics in Brevard and then in Wilmington, NC, she retired to Burnside, Newfoundland, Canada, where she continued to practice her skills part-time.

Dr. Sue Kydd first came to Henderson County during her undergraduate and graduate summers under the tutelage of Dr. Herb Justus, DVM, before opening her own North State Vet. clinic on Hwy 25. She was an avid tennis player and member of Oak Hills Racquet Club for many years. She is survived by her son, Jacob F. Decatur of Wilmington, NC; one grandson, Liam Decatur of Wilmington, NC; a sister, Nancy (Kydd) Titus of Charlotte, NC; a brother, Douglas A. Kydd III of Charlotte; a twin sister, Carol (Kydd) Frost of Oneonta, NY; two nephews: Daniel Frost of Worcester, MA, and Joel Frost of NY; and Lilly, her devoted Golden Retriever. Sue Kydd's unexpected demise has left many family and friends stunned

She was a remarkably gifted veterinarian and will be missed by uncounted friends and former clients.
