A SPOKESMAN FOR NC DOT CONFIRMED FOR WHKP NEWS ON FRIDAY THAT THE SINKHOLE ON THAT RAMP HAS BEEN REPAIRED, THE RAMP IS OPEN, DETOUR NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

NC DOT says Department of Transportation crews were investigating a pothole on an I-26 ramp Wednesday when the pavement collapsed, DOT's David Uchiyama said the collapse left a sinkhole about 15 feet deep on the Exit 54 ramp from I-26 westbound to U.S. 25 headed toward Greenville, S.C.
Officials immediately closed that road and established a detour for motorists: I-26 West to Exit 53, left on Upward Road to U.S. 176 West to U.S. 25 South.
