Court Judge Marvin Pope ordered the sale of Shepherd's Memorial Park on the Asheville Highway.
The sale was set for March 5th at the Henderson County Courthouse.
The price was valued by the state appraisal at between $900,000 and $1.4 million dollars.
A small crowd of funeral home owners and managers were on hand and the auction opened with auctioneer Mark White starting the bidding at 1.22 million. None of the funeral home representatives present placed a bid, and the auction was closed.
It is now up to Judge Pope to determine the next step for the cemetery on US 25 at Naples.
One of the funeral home directors present - when asked why no bids were made - replied, "the price was set too high."
