"....the School Board’s new plan for Hendersonville High appeared to be well received by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners..."

According to the Hendersonville Times-News, the School Board’s new plan for Hendersonville High appeared to be well received by the Henderson County Board of Commissioners Wednesday, with plans for the two boards to meet next week before funding for the project is put to a vote.

During the commissioners’ all-day budget workshop Wednesday, officials from Henderson County Public Schools made their annual requests for the upcoming 2019-20 fiscal year, including operating costs, capital and school safety needs.

Part of that request includes the new $59.2-million plan for Hendersonville High, designed by PFA Architects and LS3P Associates to include a new two-classroom building on campus and renovation of the historic Stillwell Building and 1974 gymnasium.

The plan was unveiled to the public last week and approved by the School Board Monday, but it will require money from the county.

Commissioners Chair Grady Hawkins said both boards have made great progress and are heading in the right direction. Both boards will meet next Wednesday 9 a.m. at the Historic Courthouse.
