The Hendersonville Police Department has a new strategic plan to focus on over the next three years.
Police Chief Blair Myhand spoke with city council members Wednesday night outlining the changes and key points.
The four areas the plan focuses on include strengthening public trust and building a safer community.
Myhand said the department also came up with a new mission and values that better align with 21st-century policing. He said part of the plan includes frequent reviews.
"I want it to be a working document. And it'll be a lot of work on some of our staff and our organization. But the review and revising one-third of our policies, that's on me," Myhand said.
