HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — Community members gathered in Henderson County as part of the series of national protests on Saturday April 5.
The protest took place at the Historic Henderson County Courthouse, uniting nine local organizations and over a thousand participants demonstrating against the policies implemented by the current administration.
One protester, Laura Bannister, said she joined the community protest to contribute to the display of "strength."
"We're out in numbers, we're out in the streets — we're not going to take this sitting down," Bannister said.
She also praised local police departments for collaborating with the organizations, which helped make the event possible.
