Henderson County's State Representative. Jake Johnson has been named chair of the House Oversight Committee, an influential panel with the authority to issue subpoenas and investigate government operations.
Johnson also announced that the North Carolina General Assembly has partnered with Appalachian Community Capital and the Dogwood Health Trust to provide $30 million in grants for small businesses in Western North Carolina. The application window is open until Feb. 25.
