Henderson County manager John Mitchell was presented the Debi Smith Heart of Hospitality Award by the Henderson County Tourism Development Authority.
TDA board chair Richard Rhodes announced Mitchell as the winner at Wednesday mornings county commissioner meeting.Debi Smith whom the award is named for then presented John Mitchell a plaque honoring him.
Mitchell received the award for his hard work overcoming,storm Helene,recent fires,and he efforts seeing the Ecusta Trail completed in June.
Several TDA board members were present for the presentation along with several TDA employees and Director Michelle Owens.
