The Kiwanis Club of Hendersonville awarded two scholarships during the meeting the May 2nd meeting. .
The 2019 awardee for the Morris Kaplan Kiwanis Scholarship Foundation Four Year College scholarship is Mariana Jimenez. Maraiana received a $5,000 scholarship. She will graduate from North Henderson High School is June. Mariana plans to attend UNC Chapel Hill, and major in Biology with long range plans to become an Anesthesiologist.
Ryan Osteen is a native of Henersonville, and will graduate from East Henderson High School. He is the awardee for the $2,500 Career/Technical School. Ryan intends to attend Blue Ridge Community College for two years and then transfer to Wingate College Parmacy program here in Hendesonville.
Both of these students have academic achievements and civic volunteer activites that are indeed noteworthy.
The Kiwanis Club has been giving scholarships since 1965 and have awarded almost 200 students in Henderson County.
