The Kenmure golf course and real estate properties, one of the premiere properties in the Carolina's has been sold, according to Lee King, Owner and CEO.
The announcement was made this morning (Thursday) in a newsletter sent to all members of the Kenmure community.
King said that Kenmure had been a major part of his life since 1985 and he was making the announcement with a mixture of sadness and happiness.
The new owner is Steven Schorr, a successful New Jersey businessman.
King will continue to be associated with the property for at least the next year to assist in the transition. The new owner is also keeping the staff and is retaining the services of Kemper Sports which will assume the full management of the property when Lee King fully retires.
The some 1,800 acres on which Kenmure is located was the largest single land sale in Henderson County when the property was sold several decades ago by the late realtor, Jimmy Edney.
