A Henderson County Public Schools teacher was named 2025 Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Teacher of the Year.
Sue Moon, a teacher and coach at North Henderson High School, was named the 2025 Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Teacher of the Year.
Moon was surprised with the award on Friday, Feb. 28, 2025.
According to a press release from the school system, Moon was chosen "because of her unwavering dedication to her students and community, particularly her exceptional support of Hendersonville in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene."
"I am truly humbled; I'm amazed at this," Moon said. "I just feel like I'm doing my job because teachers should be leading students, not only in content areas, but to be better citizens in their schools, and better residents of their communities and I think what Chick-fil-A does with their leadership program just reinforces those things that we are teaching in the classroom.
She will represent the Atlantic region and the nation as the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy Teacher of the Year.
