Good evening this is Mark Garrett, Superintendent of Henderson County Public Schools with a little bit of a surprise inclement weather update.

Late this afternoon, parts of our county received an unexpected snow shower. Coupled with the frigid temperatures we are currently experiencing, it resulted in a few roads becoming snow covered. As a result, Henderson County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. This delayed start will allow our crews the opportunity to check roads in the morning to determine if any additional schedule adjustments are necessary. It will also allow the morning commute to take place in daylight for improved visibility for our buses and student drivers. Please remember that buses will arrive approximately two hours later than usual and will not travel on any roads that may be slick.

All morning programs, including child care services and breakfast, will also follow the two-hour delay schedule.

Staff who are unable to report at their regular time should communicate directly with their supervisor.

Once again, HCPS will operate on a two-hour delay Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

It looks like this winter is going to keep us on our toes after a couple of years of mild weather, so thank you for hanging in there with us.
