Henderson County, North Carolina man pleads guilty to Robbery with a
Dangerous Weapon:

On February 27, 2025, Evan Robbins, 31 years of age from Hendersonville, pled guilty to
Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Felon, and being a Habitual Felon,
announced R. Andrew Murray, District Attorney for Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania
Counties. Superior Court Judge Peter Knight presided over the Henderson County Criminal
Superior Court Session and sentenced the defendant.

According to the investigation and court trial records, on February 9, 2024, a probation officer
search was conducted at Robbin’s residence, where he was found to be in possession of
firearm, which is unlawful for him to possess because of his status as a convicted felon. Robbins
subsequently posted his bail, and on April 1, 2024, he was involved in an armed robbery with a
co-defendant that resulted in the taking of property.

Robbins has three prior felony convictions
where each offense date and each conviction date do not overlap, making him a habitual felon
as defined by law. Judge Knight sentenced the defendant to a minimum term of 77 months and
a maximum term of 105 months in the North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections.
Assistant District Attorney Michael Van Buren handled the prosecution and sentencing of these
crimes.

District Attorney Andrew Murray thanks the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office and lead
Detectives Dakota Wolfe and Jamie McClure for their professional and thorough investigation
of these cases. Murray said he supports citizen’s right to bear arms, but when felons unlawfully
possess guns and threaten our community, they will be prosecuted. A gun in the hands of a
convicted felon is a recipe for disaster.
