The Henderson County Board Of Education voted unanimously this week to give Henderson County 39 acres of land for ballfields and other recreational facilities.
The property is adjacent to Berkeley Park and is currently owned by the schools.
The Henderson County Parks and Recreation Board is expected to vote today in favor of the project.
It is expected that it will then be approved at the County Commissioners meeting next week.
The deal is a hand shake deal according to the school board chair. By giving the 39 acres"we are expecting the county to fulfill their promise to build the fields,tennis courts etc."
