Well while it was not as much as some predicted, we did get an actual snow that the students (and adults) could enjoy for the first time in three years. Now comes the not so fun part of waiting for it to go away. While the main roads have melted well, there are still lots of icy secondary roads and wet areas that will refreeze overnight. Certainly, this is a concern for our buses and student drivers. For these reasons, HCPS will operate on a Remote Learning Day for Monday, January 13. As always, staff should communicate with your principal or supervisor should you have concerns about reporting in the morning.
Since this is the first remote day the district has had in quite a while, please be reminded that you can find student assignments on the choice boards that teachers sent home or on Google Classroom. If you do have questions about the remote day, you are encouraged to contact your school throughout the day tomorrow.
Speaking of assignments, I was thrilled with everyone’s homework from Friday—building snowmen, sipping hot chocolate, and enjoying the snow! We received lots of great photo evidence of all the great work. As a result, I’m giving everyone an A+ and hope we see the same stellar effort for tomorrow’s remote learning day.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate the unpredictable winter weather during these cold months.
Have a great evening.
