EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY
The Town of Lake Lure announced on Tuesday that Shannon Baldwin has been selected to be the town's interim town manager.
Baldwin in a former Henderson County commissioner and a former Henderson County school board member.
Affiliated with the Town of Lake Lure for years, Baldwin will assume the interim town manager position effective immediately.
Baldwin's selection comes after a June 15 announcement that Ron Nalley had resigned his position as town manager...Nalley's resignation was effective immediately.
In addition to his past service in Henderson County, Baldwin also served as Saluda city administrator from 2001 to 2003.
Baldwin worked with Lake Lure starting in 2004 as community development director. Over the years, the release says, he served under the town manager, and in cooperation with various boards, steering committees and stakeholder groups.
Lake Lure Mayor Kevin Cooley said in a statement Tuesday, “We on Town Council are united in doing what is best for the town and its citizens.” Lake The Lake Lure mayor added, “With all the complex issues we face as a community, we are not in a position to go even one week without leadership over our staff and the projects in front of us.”
Baldwin has also facilitated the process and adoption of numerous major town plans, including the Morse Park Site Plan, the 2007-2027 Comprehensive Plan and update, and the N.C. Highway 9 General Development Plan. Baldwin also led the process for the town’s small-area plans for the Rocky Broad Gateway, Morse Park and the Main Street Plan.
