DONALD TRUMP IS PROJECTED TO BE THE WINNER IN THE PRESIDENTIAL RACE AND MADE HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH LAST NIGHT AT TRUMP HEADQUARTERS IN FLORIDA.
THE REPUBLICANS WON THE US SENATE AND MADE MANY GAINS IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AS WELL. THIS INCLUDES THE RE-ELECTION OF SENATOR CHUCK EDWARDS, REPRESENTING OUR 17TH CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT OF WESTER NORTH CAROLINA.
AT THE STATE LEVEL DEMOCRAT JOSH STEIN WON THE GOVERNOR WHILE FORMER MADISON CAWTHORN AIDE, REPUBLICAN HAL WEATHERMAN AND WON LT GOVERNOR.
LOCALLY REPUBLICANS JENNIFER BALKCOLM,TIM MOFFITT AND JAKE JOHNSON WON THEIR RE-ELECTION BIDS FOR ANOTHER TERM.
IN THE CITY OF HENDERSONVILLE COUNCIL RACE JENNIFER HENSLEY,AND GINA BAXTER WON THE TWO SEATS THAT WERE OPEN
FOR HENDERSON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, JAY EGOLF,AND SHEILA FRANKLIN WON THEIR RACES..BOTH ARE REPUBLICANS
FOR US DISTRICT COURT REPUBLICAN MONICA GILLETT DEFEATED CURRENT SEATEDJUDGE BAKER.
FOR SCHOOL BOARD ALL 4 REPUBLICANS RUNNING WON
Amy Lynn Holt emerged as the top vote-getter with 38,180 votes or 15.35 percent. Incumbent Kathy G. Revis came in second with 37,176 votes or 14.95 percent of the vote, followed closely by fellow incumbent Robert M. Bridges with 35,829 votes, or 14.41 percent, and newcomer Beth Campbell with 35,475 votes or 14.27 percent.
Democratic candidates were Mary Ellen Kustin, Lesley Carey, Rhonda Mountain and Josh Williams.
