12th Annual Turkey Trot – Thursday, November 28
The 5k run/walk event starts at 8:30 AM at City Hall at Fifth Avenue East and King Street. A street closure of 5th Avenue from Main Street to King Street will occur to accommodate the race, with the street closure starting at 7:00 AM. The course travels through downtown and motorists should stay alert for race participants during the event.
Holiday Tree Lighting – Friday, November 29
All are welcome to gather on the Historic Courthouse Plaza to sing Christmas carols, sip hot cocoa and watch for the man in red on Friday, November 29 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Main Street will be closed from 1st to 2nd Avenue, with no inbound traffic allowed on Second Avenue. Hendersonville Farmer’s Market – Holiday Market – Saturday, December 7
There will be an upcoming holiday market to find everything you need for a memorable holiday! Mark your calendars for the Christmas Market on Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
The holiday market will take place on Maple Street, which will be closed from 6th to 7th Ave. The market will have a variety of activities, 30+ vendors, and accept double SNAP/EBT. Recommended parking locations include Maple Street (accessed from 5th Avenue), 5th Avenue, the Henderson County Courthouse, and any of the Public Parking Lots around Main Street. Hendersonville Christmas Parade – Saturday, December 7
On Saturday, December 7, Hendersonville’s Christmas parade organized by the Hendersonville Merchants & Business Association will be taking place in downtown Hendersonville. This year’s parade will take place in the evening starting at 6:00 PM. The parade viewing area extends along Main Street from 5 Points to the Kanuga/Caswell Street intersection.
No parking will be allowed in the west side spaces of the 100 block of Main Street directly in front of the historic courthouse on December 7th to allow for set up.
No parking will be allowed after 3:00 PM on Main Street between 6th Avenue and Kanuga/Caswell. At 4:00 PM Main Street and the avenues will shut down to vehicle traffic to allow barricades to be set up. Before the parade begins, detours will divert traffic away from downtown. Parade staging will occur on Oakland Street, Bearcat Blvd as well as portions of Asheville Highway once the detours begin.
Parade Detours:
- Motorists approaching the parade area will be directed to a detour route.
- Southbound traffic traveling towards downtown on Asheville Hwy (US-25) will be diverted to Fleming St for Hwy 64 W and Church St connections
- Commercial truck traffic traveling inbound on 4 Seasons Blvd (US-64) will be rerouted via Duncan Hill to reach Asheville Hwy (US-25).
- Immediately before the parade, South Main Street will close for the parade unloading area
The streets will reopen approximately 30 minutes after the parade’s conclusion to allow attendees time to disperse.

Holly Jolly Train Rides - Saturday, December 21
Parking Spaces in front of the courthouse closed. Mountain Fresh Orchards will provide holiday train rides on Main Street from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, hop on the train at the Historic Courthouse where they will have fresh baked and canned goods. Ellaberry Llama Farm will have a photo opportunity with two llamas and holiday cheer.
