- Blue Ridge Humane Society (BRHS) invites the community to
participate in Paws for a Purpose, a signature fundraising weekend bringing together local businesses
and individuals to raise awareness and funds to support their mission of ensuring the highest quality of
life for animals in Henderson County and surrounding communities. This year’s event will be held Friday,
April 11 through Sunday, April 13 and is presented by Hunter Subaru.

Over thirty unique fundraisers will be taking place throughout the weekend, with some events
happening over the course of the week, or the full month of April. Businesses are offering pet-themed
promotions, holding special events, donating a portion of sales, and collecting pet supplies. A complete
schedule can be found at: https://www.blueridgehumane.org/get-involved/events/pawsforapurpose/

“This signature fundraising event started five years ago as a way to bring the community together to
support our mission in a more creative and inclusive nature, given the challenges of the pandemic” said
BRHS Executive Director Angela Prodrick. “We are especially mindful in planning our 2025 event to
highlight local businesses who are still recovering from Hurricane Helene and the more recent wildfires.
This is a timely opportunity for individuals to connect with friends and neighbors and contribute as much
or as little as they desire in the course of one weekend to support our mission at Blue Ridge Humane
Society and to support small, locally owned businesses. It’s a win-win!”

“This year’s event has something for everyone including a night of bowling, community dog walks, beer
and wine promotions, a paint and sip party and delicious food specials from a variety of restaurants and
food trucks,” Prodrick noted. “Many participating businesses are dog-friendly so your four-legged
friends can participate too,” she added.
