Blue Ridge Community College Announces March 10 Start for 8-Week Short Courses

HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – Blue Ridge Community College is gearing up for the next round of 8-week Short Courses, which begin on March 10, 2025. These accelerated courses offer students a flexible way to earn full college credit in half the time of a traditional semester, helping them stay on track or get ahead in their studies.

Short Courses are available in a variety of subjects and are offered both online and on-campus at Blue Ridge’s Henderson and Transylvania County locations. Their accelerated format makes them a great option for students who need a fast-track approach to earning credentials, whether they are working toward a degree, certificate, or simply looking to build new skills.

“Short Courses are all about flexibility, giving you the chance to fit college into your life and schedule,” said Benjamin Rickert, Blue Ridge’s director of communications. “With their accelerated format, these classes help you gain the skills and credentials you need faster. Whether you’re looking to catch up, get ahead, or explore something new, we’re here to help you ‘build your future’ with opportunities that work for you.”

Interested students must enroll by March 7, 2025, to secure their seats. Additionally, those seeking financial assistance through the Build Your Future Grant – a hurricane relief grant providing valuable tuition support for workforce-focused programs – should apply by February 28.

Short Courses are offered during every semester at Blue Ridge, providing year-round opportunities for students to advance their education while balancing work, family, and other commitments. The fall and spring semesters generally include 8-week short courses at the start and mid-point of the term, while summer semesters include a single session.

“Whether you are a full-time student looking to accelerate your degree path, a part-time learner seeking to fit education into a busy schedule, or a professional aiming to gain new skills, Short Courses provide a valuable option,” Rickert added.
