Atkinson Elementary school has new 'digs' starting Tuesday.
Due to flooding at their regular location, they will meet - in their entirety - at the Boys & Girls Club of Henderson County until repairs - currently underway - are made in their school, caused by Hurricane Helene.
These arrangements are courtesy of the Fazio Family, who established the Club a number of years ago at 1304 Ashe Street, easily accessed from 7th Avenue East and North Main Street.
Superiintendent Mark Garrett indicated this will be a safe environment allowing the Atkinson school family to stay together while repairs are being made, which he says the goal for that completion by the school's winter break.
