One of the oldest roads in Henderson County is back open after being closed for nearly all of 2020 to 2024.
Seventh Ave. businesses have welcomed back street and foot traffic for a few weeks.
The Street Scape Project began in late January.
Despite hurdles like Helene, renovations were completed within the original timeline.
Business are already noticing a big difference.
"Once this opened back up, it was evident that a lot of people weren’t coming around the construction. Now, I’ve seen a really steady traffic base. It is the holidays, but the numbers show that people were staying away," said Carly Buntin, owner of Claywood.
There are now wider sidewalks, new streetlights and decor.
